On August 28th the 2,000th animal will be sterilized in one of the many low-cost pet clinics supported by Loving All Animals, Coachella Animal Network (C.A.N), Luke’s Legacy Foundation, Mountain View Country Club, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, ABC Recover Center, Best Paw Forward and several private donors, including Jackie Story. The 2,000th pet is scheduled to be received on the morning of Friday, August 28th at the ABC Recovery Center in Indio.

The lack of local low-cost services in the East Valley, created by the closing of the Indio Animal Shelter in July 2013, prompted C.A.N. to offer low-cost pet clinics. Today, 1,997 animals have been sterilized as a result of all of these groups working together.

The low-cost pet clinics are a community effort to help pet owners keep their pets compliant with local pet laws, and to achieve the ultimate goal of keeping families and their beloved pets together. Kim Maguire-Hardee, founder of C.A.N. and the program director of the Low-Cost Vaccine & Sterilization program at Loving All Animals, said, “This shows a community coming together and accomplishing its mission for managing the pet population in our valley, getting closer to a no-kill Coachella Valley, and Loving All Animals’ mission to bring groups together for the benefit of the animals.”

“We are so proud of the accomplishments of Kim Hardee and the team including Coachella Animal Network and Animal Action League,” stated Terence Davis, Executive Director at Loving All Animals. “It’s a tremendous milestone to reach 2,000 pets sterilized in two years.”

Luke’s Legacy is very proud to be part of this endeavor! Keep your donations coming our way so we can financially aid and support this positive community energy that favors all animals in our valley.
